Designer Shoes

       (Top to Bottom)

This week I have been having the weirdest cravings! Ice Cream? No. Burgers? No. Chocolate? Mmm... Yes but not. SHOES! I don't know why but I have just been finding myself swooning over all of these lovely designer shoes. Alas, I am nowhere near rich enough to afford shoes like this, so I will just sit here on my Mac and swoon over them. Do you have a shoe obsession? Which designer shoes are you craving???

A Few Of My Favourite Things | Happy National Pink Day!

Pink Peonies

Pink Peonies
I absolutely adore peonies. I do not however, enjoy constantly repurchasing them. I bought some cute pink and white faux peonies from the dollar store and have them in a vase on my makeup desk! I love having flowers in my room because they bring in colour and femininity. If you ever want to send me flowers, a bouquet of pink peonies will do just fine :)

Bombshells in Bloom
Victoria's Secret: Bombshells in Bloom
I purchased this perfume whilst in Florida during the winter. I love how cute the bottle is! Does anyone take into consideration how the bottle looks when purchasing a perfume? If it's going to sit on my little mirrored plate it has to look cute! But this perfume smells amazing as well, it is the perfect summer scent. It has notes of pink freesia, red apple, and water lily... So basically everything fresh and light and pretty!

Pretty in Pink
Pretty in Pink
It is a little known fact that I am obsessed with all John Hughes films. But then again, what girl isn't? Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club, Some Kind of Wonderful, Sixteen Candles... All classics!!! I may not have been born in the 80s but I have a very deep appreciation for all 80s films. If you haven't seen Pretty in Pink it's basically a bout a girl who has to chose between "the boy next door" and mister popular. Molly Ringwald is simply sensational in everything she does.

Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Lipstick 42
Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet: 42
I know I talk about this lipstick in almost every post, but how can I not? It is the most gorgeous colour and the packaging is... wow. I always feel like such a classy lady whenever I pull this out of my makeup bag.

OPI Mod About You
OPI: Mod About You
My new favourite pink! I have been wearing this consistently for a few weeks now. I love how opaque the colour is. It's definitely not a pastel, as it is decently bright. But if you're not a fan (or not in the mood) for a neon pink then I suggest you take a look at this colour!

Jeffrey Campbell Boots
Jeffrey Campbell: Muskrat Boot
Can we just talk about this boot. I know a pink bootie isn't exactly the most practical way to spend $200 but I feel like these would be perfect in a million different ways. Spring, Fall, hell you could probably get away with wearing them in the dead of summer!

Trends | Summer Skirts

Skater Skirts

As previously mentioned in my June Non-Beauty Favourites post, I am loving skater skirts this summer. Since most of them are patterned it is super easy to just throw on a plain crop top and walk out the door looking cute and put together. I have noticed that I am not the only one who has been loving this trend, it's everywhere you look; the streets, magazines, beauty blogs, youtube videos. I think that what makes the skater skirt so popular is the way it fits. I truly believe it looks good on any body size, if you are skinny and have little curves, it can add some definition to your waist and create the illusion of hips. Or if you are curvy like me, it works because it hugs the tiniest part (your waist) and flows out to hide any parts you may feel a bit self-conscious about! Here are some of my favourite skater skirts on the market!

(Left to Right)

  1. Swoop & Spin Skirt (Tobi)
  2. Scalloped Mesh Embroidered Skirt (Forever 21)
  3. Pleated Rose Print Skirt (Forever 21)
  4. Layered Skater Skirt (Forever 21)
Skorts

Now I remember back in my first year of university, one of my professors always used to say "there is nothing new under the sun" and that history often repeats itself in many different forms. Well that is most certainly the truth here! I remember being in elementary school and wearing skorts all the time. They were "all the rage" amongst the cool kids, and while my mother may not have understood the constant begging for a clothing item, she eventually relented. Now a days the skort is much more appealing and fashion forward. I think the longer skort would be perfect for a business meeting, while the shorter ones are perfect for any summer gathering as they are quite fancy looking!  I don't own any skorts anymore, but I may have to do a little browsing as some of these are completely gorgeous!

#FOTD | Bright & Colourful

Hi y'all! I wanted to pop in with a little #fotd action! I am in love with this look, and think it's absolutely perfect for summer! I am so tired of the same old browns or nudes, but I never really have time to sit and play with eyeshadow colours and blending. I was browsing the makeup section in Walmart the other day and came across the Annabelle Kohl eyeliner and this cobalt blue colour instantly caught my eye. I knew right away I wanted a bold lip to go with this look, I know the cardinal rule of keeping it to one or the other but I think these colours work perfectly together. Also, it only took me 10-15 minutes to put this together! Products listed below :)

1. Clinique Superprimer Colour Correct
2. Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in shade 42 (L'Éclatante)
3. Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturizer in shade 01
4. Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer in shade Light
5. Annabelle Kohl Eyeliner in shade 108 Lapis
6. Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara
7. Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush in shade Magic

What looks are you loving for summer? How do you add colour into your everyday look?

Lip Of The Month | NYX Power

NYX PowerNYX Power
Oh my lanta, this post has been a long time coming. Well actually, not so much the post, but this colour. Not that the colour hasn't existed, but I just haven't been able to find it. I've been on the hunt for the perfect opaque pastel lavender lipstick. I saw this NYX black label lipstick in a YouTube video a few months back and just fell in love. I thought it may be a bit different and "out there" for some people, but considering my 90 year old Grandma gave it the thumbs up, I feel safe to say that this is a colour everyone should own. It's nice because you can wear it with a simple eye or, my go to lately, a light pink/purple using the Naked 3 palette.

NYX Power

I have to say though, as much as I love the colour, surprisingly, the best thing about this product is the consistency and smoothness. Ladies, I cannot describe what this feels like. I want to go out and buy all of the colours in this range. It is smooth and creamy but not cake-y or sticky. And it definitely has decent lasting power! I purchased this from Ulta for like $3.00!!!! I mean, COME ON! If that isn't the deal of the summer I don't know what it is.

What lip products have you been loving this summer? Would you wear a colour like this???

Non-Beauty Favourites | June

Oh yes, that's right, we're doing some non-beauty favourites for June and it ain't even over yet. This is my show and we run things a bit differently 'round here. Ok all non-sense aside, June has been a pretty spectacular month. Warm weather, relaxation, and pretty much just all around goodness. It's been a really busy month and I hate that I haven't posted anything of real value. But that is all going to change. I have a new lipstick post coming, and I have finally decided to show you my little battle station. I am quite proud of it and really excited to finally show you where the magic happens no not that kind of magic silly. So without too much of the usual rambling, lets dive into the meat of this post.

Skater Skirt
Skater skirts, circle skirts, high waisted skirts. Whatever you want to call 'em, I love 'em. I picked these two up from Target and I have been wearing them non-stop. It has thankfully been really warm here in good ole Canada (well at least where I live) and so having something cute and easy to wear like a crop top and skirt has been a true blessing. I also love these fun patterns, perfect for summer!

Ultraviolence

Oh my. Lana Del Rey is my love. I've always been a fan of old bluesy artists, and when I started listening to Lana about a year ago I just fell in love instantly. I just got her new album today, but I am already obsessed. Ultraviolence (and all Lana songs for that matter) require you to really sit down and just focus on the songs. So far I am loving Sad Girl, Old Money and The Other Woman. Lana co-wrote every song on the album except for The Other Woman, and she is just so talented. Definitely worth a listen!

Forever 21 Earrings

I went to a new outlet mall with my Grandma last weekend and decided to stop into Forever 21, which is never a good decision for my wallet. But thankfully I was able to show some restraint and only purchased these earrings and a new hairbrush. I love these earrings because they dress up any look. I love having cute earrings in the summer because my hair is pretty much always up in a bun from the humidity and I want it to look like I at least tried to look put together.

Forever 21

So, I have a purse obsession. It is what it is. I have been trying to limit my collection and I've been doing really good at re-using the bags I already have instead of buying new ones all the time. But when I saw this one on the Forever 21 website I knew I just had to have it. I love the pastel grey and the subtle detailing. It's also the perfect size, it fits everything I need but makes it hard to collect all that junk!

Tim Hortons Birthday Cake

Did you think I was going to make it through this post without a baked good??? These Birthday Cake TimBits from Tim Hortons are To. Die. For. I mean it. I know I have a Birthday Cake obsession, but these are too good to be true. If you're a Canadian or a lucky American who lives close to the border go out and try these babies!!

Lana del Rey Sunglasses

I call these my Lana Del Rey sunglasses. I don't really know why. I just think they are something she would wear! I love the flowers that go all the way across and the deep purple of the lenses do a really good job of keeping the sun at bay. I purchased these from PacSun a few months back before my road trip to Florida! I have blue eyes and they cry at the sight of the sun, so a good pair of sunglasses are always needed. If you ever see me wearing sunglasses and it's cloudy out, do not judge me. Even low UV rays make me squint. Do any other fellow blue eyed babes have this problem!?

Notebook

Lastly, we have this adorable little notebook that I picked up at Marshall's for a few dollars. I thought the "You were born to sparkle" was so cute and made me think of Sprinkle of Glitter and I just couldn't resist. I am always needing something to track down my thoughts or notes or lists, and this fits perfectly in all of my bags!

What have you been loving this month that is non-beauty related??? Feel free to let me know in the comments or leave me your blog links so I can check it out!

Guess who's back!!!

I can't believe how long it's been since my last blog post! My life has been crazy these past few weeks. Everything from family issues, to technology issues, to inspiration issues. My poor Grandma has been ill for the past week so I've been back and forth between her house and mine. And will probably be continuing to do that for the next little while. Also, my DSLR camera is the biggest piece of crap and won't hold a charge. And my iPhone 4 has the worst camera ever. Every picture I take is super fuzzy and I just hate posting content that isn't up to the level I want for my blog so I'd rather not post at all. But I am trying to get my ducks together and get back into some regular posting.

I also suffered some inspiration blues. Partially because I couldn't afford any new products, and partly because I was just so busy and lazy at the same time. BUT my beautiful friends, that is all about to change. I feel inspired and ready to write again! I decided to go through the products I already have but don't use a lot and came up with some really pretty spring looks that I think you all will love! So be on the lookout for that within the next while.

I want to thank everyone for keeping on this journey with me and will leave you with some pictures of things I've been up to the past few weeks, as well as some looks I've tried!!
